I did receive tickets for the family to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. That does not influence my opinions on this post. All opinions are 100% my own.
This year our family had the opportunity to head out to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party for some amazing family fun. After the last six weeks recovering from our house fire this was so needed. We loaded up and planned on having an amazing night as a family. This was such a magical night and I am so glad we made it. I want to share some Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tips and tricks so you can have a magical experience there too.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Tips and Tricks
I will say that I did the party with an 8 and 11 year old. Some of these tips may be different for you if you have a smaller child or can’t handle late nights.
Come to the party early. – The party will start at 7 PM but you can arrive as early as 4 PM to go into the park. This will give you extra playtime. You will get a bracelet when you first enter the park that will identify you as a party guest. This is a great time to get in line for a favorite ride, grab a holiday-themed meal, or get in line for some of the longer queued characters.
If you are already in the park, pick up your wristband. – Your party ticket will be linked to your park ticket or wristband. Visit one of the stations like the sign pictured above to get your party wristband. Park guests will start to leave at 6 PM.
Get your special Sorcerors of the Magic Kingdom Card! – We love these cards and it is free with your party ticket. It is part of the in park game but you can still get a card even if you don’t choose to play. This makes a fun keepsake from your party.
Take advantage of the extra hours from 4-7 to enjoy some rides. – We used this time to meet a few of our favorite characters and ride a few of our favorite rides.
Get in line early for special characters. – My husband had his heart set on meeting Scrooge so we hopped in line at 6:00 for this meet and greet. There are some of the special characters that will keep long lines all night long. Get to those early and secure your spot in line. It will be a wait and take away from ride time but these meet and greets are so worth the wait!

Know where the treats are. – In your park map it will outline where the treats are. I highly recommend making time to get the Peppermint Crunch Cookie as well as the snow cones. Both are delicious and not to be missed.
Visit Club Tinsel! – Club Tinsel is the fun dance party your kids won’t want to leave. Add to it the fact that they can dance with that awesome polar bear and this isn’t to be missed.
Check out the shows in Tomorrowland. – While there are bigger shows in front of the castle, the shows in Tomorrowland are absolutely adorable. Even better, they are less crowded so your children can sit close and enjoy. It’s all the fun of a show without the larger crowds on Main Street.

Enjoy the parade in Adventureland. – You may be tempted to enjoy the parade in front of the castle. I don’t blame you. However, crowds may be lower over in Adventureland. We also found many of characters to be very interactive with the kids. It was a lot of fun. You can see the live stream of the parade on my Facebook page.
Don’t miss Elsa transforming the castle! – Whether you watch the stage show or not, seeing the castle transform is so magical! I don’t recommend missing this one!
Enjoy the fireworks on the grass near Casey’s. – The view above is from the grass near Casey’s Hot Dog place. It will give your kids the option to run around if they are not interested in fireworks or fall asleep if they get tired without worrying about crowds. You will want to get a spot an hour in advance as it will fill up. You can watch my live stream on my Facebook page if you wanted to know how the show flows.
Visit princesses during the party. – The princesses will have a shorter wait time and some will have their princes. This is a fantastic way to save yourself some wait time while meeting the ever prized princesses.
Take advantage of special photo spots. – The photopass photographers can do some really fun stuff in the pics. Images like the ones above are a fun magical surprise and we didn’t notice Olaf until we got our pictures. He’s such a sneaky photo bomber.
The most important tip is to make time for fun. Laugh together. Enjoy the party. It can be easy to schedule your whole experience out and try to do it. Accept that you won’t do everything but you will have a really fun party. If you think you need more than one night, go ahead and pick up a second ticket.
