Mason Jar Crafts for Teachers
With my daughter in school this year I am getting to experience some new things. One of these new things is the need to make teacher gifts. I picked up 36 mason jars for $5 at a thrift store and knew these had to be re-purposed into a teacher gift. That’s where these mason jar crafts for teachers came from.

Mason Jar Teacher Gift Craft
These teacher gifts with mason jars are the perfect way to add a bit of customization to your teacher gift. I am going to share each of the mason jar gifts for teachers that I created. My daughter shared the interests of each teacher with me so that I could customize each gift.

Doctor Who Mason Jar Craft
Supplies Needed
- 16 oz Mason Jar
- Blue Paint
- White Paint
- Black Paint
- Yellow Paint
- Fine tip paint brush
- Blue Ribbon
- Doctor Who Gift Tags
- Fillers – You can fill your jar with anything. The one pictured has krinkly paper, cracker jacks, and tootsie rolls. You could easily fill your teacher gift jar with jelly babies or a gift card. The options are endless!
Start with a T.A.R.D.I.S. printed out on a sheet of paper to fit your jar. – This will be your template and help you to get your T.A.R.D.I.S. on your jar in the right way. Trace your outlines in black paint. – This will help you to better put together your jar.
Start by filling in your blue paint. – Make sure to take care to be careful with the jar. Fill in the white for the windows and a sheet of paper. – This will help you to better fill out your windows in the next stop. Make sure they are dry before moving to the next step.

Add your details
This next step is optional. Leave the jar with just the T.A.R.D.I.S. or have more fun with it.
I decided to free-hand an attempt at the Van Gogh Starry Night. I know it is far from perfect but I am happy with it and I am sure the teacher will be too.
Let your jar dry for 24 hours. Put your jar in the oven. Turn the oven to 350. When the oven reaches 350, bake for 30 minutes. Turn off the oven and let it cool completely. Doing this will cause your paint to set. However, you will still want these to be hand wash only. Fill your jar with whatever you want. Add your Doctor Who gift tag and ribbon to make a great teacher gift!

Beauty and the Beast Jar Craft
Supplies Needed:
- 16 oz Mason Jar
- Blue Bonnet Paint
- White Paint
- Brown Paint
- Black Paint
- Fine tip paint brush
- Blue Ribbon
- Fillers – You can fill your jar with anything. The one pictured has krinkly paper, cracker jacks, and tootsie rolls. You could easily fill your teacher gift jar with candy, cocoa, or a gift card. The options are endless!
Start with Belle printed out on a sheet of paper to fit your jar. – This will be your template and help you to get your Belle on your jar in the right way. Fill in your hair and eyebrows with brown paint. Trace your outlines in black paint. – This will help you to better put together your jar.
Add the white to your eyes and the shirt. – Make sure to take care to be careful with the jar.
Fill in the blue for the dress. Paint the cover of the book any color you prefer. Add extra black lines to give the paper some texture in the book.

Go back and outline everything with a thin layer of black paint.
Add a blue bow to her hair.

Harry Potter Jar Craft

Start by drawing your Harry Potter silhouette. Paint your outlines black.

Paint the scar yellow.
Add your quote to the side in black paint.

Flamingo Teacher Jar Craft Idea
Supplies Needed:
- 16 oz Mason Jar
- Dark Pink Paint
- Light Pink Paint
- Yellow Paint
- Fine tip paint brush
- Blue Ribbon

Start by drawing out your flamingo with a marker to use as a template. Fill in your dark pink first. Then add paint your light pink portions.


Paint the legs yellow. Fill in the beak with pink and black. Outline the entire thing in a thin black line of paint.

Schoolbus Jar Craft

- Yellow Paint
- White Paint

Start by painting your entire jar yellow.

Once dry, add your lines for the School Bus section and two black wheels.

Add your windows and doors.

Write the word School Bus. – On the other side you can write thank you or the name of the bus driver.
