We went as guests of a friend on a media event. However, all opinions are 100% my own.

Looking for something fun to do to ring in the holidays? My husband has always had ICE at Gaylord Palms on his bucket list but it never happened for us. That is, until this year. It was so magical and I am excited to share about ICE Gaylord Palms 2018 A Christmas Story. I also want to share some fun tips to make the most of your visit.

ICE Gaylord Palms 2018 A Christmas Story

These are our tips from our experience. Please comment if you have other tips or ideas for enjoying the attraction.

Gaylord Palms ICE tips and information

Dress warm – The ICE exhibit is at 9 degrees. While they do provide a parka, I recommend dressing in something warm to help keep you comfortable. We found that a hoodie sweater and a thick scarf were both game changers for us.
Wear close toed shoes – As I said above it is incredibly cold. Make sure to wear close toed shoes.
Slow down and enjoy the details – The display is full of some large pieces but you need to slow down as you go thru. There are some brilliant small details.
Watch the movie before you go – It will help you to enjoy the experience even more if you watch the movie beforehand and see all the story lines unfold in ICE.
Be careful with camera gear – It is extremely cold in there. I recommend getting a waterproof cover for your camera so that it isn’t damaged by the cold or moisture.

Cirque Dreams Unwrapped Stage Show

This free show in the St. Augustine Atrium is so worth a visit! Seating is first come, first served. I recommend getting there early or purchasing a guaranteed seating ticket.
The 45 minute show will take your breath away! I said while watching it that the show goes from wow, to haha, and back to wow in record speeds!

Dreams of Christmas Light Show

The Dreams of Christmas light show is a magical show that is sure to delight both children and adults. The thing I love most about it is the fact that it makes a great alternative to fireworks. My daughter has sensory issues and fireworks terrify her. However, she was able to get comfortable and enjoy this light show without fear.
It really is a beautiful show!

Go Shopping in the Alpine Village Market Square

Don’t forget to bring some extra money with you to go shopping in the Alpine Village Market Square. You can find a great collection of ornaments, Christmas Story Merchandise, and even an exclusive Build A Bear!

Great information! I was just wondering how long you were there for? I’m just trying to squeeze this into a Disney trip this year, which is tight as it is.

    Thanks so much!

We were there for about 3 or 4 hours and could have stayed longer.
