We were given 4 tickets to Disney with park hoppers, a meal gift card, and 5 fast passes per person to facilitate this post. However, all opinions shared here are 100% our own and were not influenced by these items.
Summer is almost here and with it comes the warmer weather and larger crowds. So how do you make the most of your time in the park while keeping these things in mind? I want to share a few Hollywood Studios summer tips with you. If you think of something else I should add, please leave a comment. These are simply tips based on our experiences.
Hollywood Studios Summer Tips
Take advantage of indoor shows.
When the summer heat gets to be too much or your feet are tired after a long day, an indoor show can be just what you need. Disney’s Hollywood Studios has opened a new show called Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. The show is about 10 minutes long. Not only will you have an amazing time joining Lightning in a racing class, but you will also have the ability to do so while cooling off inside and sitting down for a bit.
Make sure to check your park map for times and so that you don’t miss out on the Ready Set Party pre-show. It runs from 10-6 and you won’t want to miss it!
Plan fast passes ahead of time.
I love going to the parks and enjoying things as they come. During the summer months, this is not as realistic. Lines can get very long and you can spend more of your Disney day waiting in line than enjoying some of the thrills Hollywood Studios has to offer.
Make sure to link your tickets to your app. Not only will it help you to keep track of them, but it will also help you to book any fast passes later in the day. A friend told me that fast passes release at 3 in the afternoon so you will want to check the app in the park to add fast passes for things you didn’t have any booked for.
Plan meals around the heat.
It can be easy to plan to eat around certain times that are typical at home. While that can be predictable, it might be wise to pack a few snacks and change up your times for meals. From 1-3 in the afternoon is usually the hottest part of the day in Summer in Central Florida. Plan a sit down meal in the a.c. at one of the many restaurants to beat the heat and take a break.
I also recommend going light with your lunch meals. Instead of running for heavy fried or carb meals, do something lighter for lunch and have a large breakfast or dinner during cooler hours of the day. I find that heavy meals in the middle of the day can leave you feeling sluggish.
Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate.
The Florida heat can be a lot for people who live here or visit. Not only is it warm out, but it is also humid. Keeping hydrated all day will help you to make the most of your visit to Hollywood Studios. There are countless restaurants that offer special drinks. You can request a free glass of water at any time.
Make sure to balance out sodas and sugary drinks with water to keep your body hydrated and enjoy the time you spend in the park.
Find the shade.
Many of the areas in Hollywood Studios are out in the sun. It can be difficult if you are sensitive to the sun. Make sure to find the shade where you can in order to cool off. You can also plan to bring hats, sunscreen, and cooling towels in order to better tolerate the sun.
