Christmas is just around the corner. If you are thinking about gifting someone something from my Whovian Gift list you might want an equally amazing way to give it to them! When I was making the Harry Potter tote for R and the Pirate tote for C I had to have something with a bit more of a Whovian flare while still honoring my Disney side! That’s why I put together this DIY Doctor Who Mickey Tote!
DIY Doctor Who Mickey Tote
Canvas Tote Bag – I grabbed a 3 pack at Michael’s and used their 30% off coupon and paid just under $9.
Sharpie – I used a fine point black one but you can personalize yours as needed.
Pencil.

What to do
Use the large part of your cup for your Mickey Face
I may have started the project before remembering to grab this picture which is why you already see a bow tie. I used the bigger part of the cup for the face and the smaller portion of the cup to trace the ears.
Before filling in your Mickey, add your bow tie.
I didn’t have a template for this bow tie. Instead, I looked at the wonderful Matt Smith and did my best to draw one free hand. It is best to outline it in black because it will give your bow tie more definition.
Fill in your Mickey and add your wording.
I did not use a template for the wording here. I did type it up on a document to get the font the way I liked it before writing it on my bag. Make sure you do this in pencil first so you can change it if you need to.
Place your printable inside your bag and trace in pencil.
I actually didn’t do this because I liked the more scrambled look of an imperfect writing as if The Doctor scribbled me a note in a hurry. That said, if you want more straight lines, trace in pencil and then go over it in sharpie.
Add touches where you want.
If you need a T.A.R.D.I.S., weeping angel, or a cute little adipose somewhere add them. If you do something fun with your tote, I would love to see it. Leave me a comment.
