This week we continued using Liberty’s Kids to teach History in our Co-Op. Last week we focused on The Boston Tea Party. This week we are focusing on The Intolerable Acts. This week we are learning about the Phoenicians in The Story of the World. The phoenicians lived in a valley that had poor soil and not much to make them money. They had to barter with other areas. What they did have were snails. The snails could be boiled down to make purple dye for clothing and thread. Because I have no intention of boiling snails in my home we had to boil something different. We tried using cabbage to dye a shirt.
