Doctor Geek’s Lab Season 1 Review and Giveaway!

If you have been following my blog for any length of time you know I am a huge fan of Dr. Geek’s Lab! In fact a dedicated an entire post to telling you why you should love Dr. Geek’s Lab as well! I am so excited because the first season of Dr. Geek’s Lab is out for purchase! That’s right, you can own them for the car or the classroom.

What is Dr. Geek’s Lab?
“It’s the 21st Century.  Ever wondered what happened to all those inventions, conveniences, and other concepts the future was suppose to bring?  Well, so have we.  Here, at Doctor Geek’s Laboratory, we will explore all the realms of applied geekdom.  We will examine the future that was, the future that is, and the future that has not yet come to pass.
Doctor Geek established the lab and science fair as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) outreach.Through enthusiasm, passion, and humor, we hope to bring our audience closer to the scientists, inventors, entrepreneurs, tinkerers, and others who are attempting to bring about the world of tomorrow.  Together we will help the future along … give it a push where it’s needed.”

What do they talk about in Season 1?
Not only do you meet the amazing Dr. Geek, you also get to know Mister Flask, Madame Oracle, and the always fun Mister Creature! They make a great team and take the listener on a Science adventure that covertly teaches you something. They pair an incredible story line with interviews with some of the more incredible Scientists around.
In season one we learn a great deal about the Flying Car and The Privatization of space. I was amazed to hear of Scientists actually working to make flying cars a possibility. While it is not an immediate reality, it is becoming less of a Science Fiction. I also learned a great deal about the privatization of Space. They even interviewed people from the T.A.R.D.I.S. in Orbit project. It was excellent to hear about this Science that linked directly to my fandom. You won’t want to miss this interview. I can guarantee it.

Who would enjoy Dr. Geek Season 1?

  • Science Lovers – If you love Science this is a must have! Not only can you enjoy the discussion but you can replay it as needed to pick up extra treasures in the season. I know I learn something different each time I listen.
  • Teachers/Homeschool Parents – Because the cast of Dr. Geek’s Lab keeps things clean you can easily incorporate this into a classroom or homeschool environment. I know that I will be playing mine for my children again. Starting in Season 3 I will even be building quizzes, fill in the blanks, and printables to go with the show.
  • Everyone! – I honestly think this is so well done it would be very applicable for anyone with even the slightest interest in Science.
Where Can I buy it?

You can buy Season 1 of Doctor Geek’s Lab HERE.  The CD is $17.47 and the Download is $11.99. You can’t beat that for an entire season of an educational podcast!

You Can Win!
Right now you can win a copy of Season 1!

Thor Movie Review – WOW!!!!

Nov 8 by Meagan Leave a Comment

This week I had the opportunity to go to a pre-screening of Thor, The Dark World. I have been looking forward to this movie for months! I have seen every trailer and checked out all of the info that was released.

Christopher Eccleston, Thor Movie

Then I found out Christopher Eccleston was going to be in it. (Hello, that’s the ninth regeneration of The Doctor!) Before I address the movie I want to tell you how awesome he was in it! I was very impressed with his diversity. To go from saving the universe to one of the evilest people in it is a huge jump. He did it without a flaw! I was thoroughly impressed by this! He is truly an incredible actor and did the role justice!

Back to the movie

From the opening credits to the scene after the credits this movie was AWESOME! I can not say enough about how well done this movie is. We had the opportunity to see it in 3D and boy was that an experience! It took the movie to a whole new level! My husband says it’s one of the only sequels he has seen that is as good or better than the original.

The Truth about Loki
Ok, I know he is a bad guy. I get it but can I just tell you how awesome of an actor he is? He really did an incredible job with this role!

When does it open?
The first showing will be on November 8th.

Get your tickets!
Tickets will probably sell out fast. Seriously, stop reading right now and go Buy your tickets!
