Allergy-Friendly Baked Apples
I asked many of my readers over on the Facebook page what kind of recipes they were looking for and I had quite a few of you ask for allergy-friendly recipes. As an allergen momma myself, I’m all for this. I decided to start with something simple to start with as I’m still learning to cook for food allergies myself. I made these allergy-friendly baked apples and I’m pretty sure they’re my new favorite! *You will see ice cream in some of the pics. A vegan vanilla ice cream can be used for this.

Allergy-Friendly Baked Apples Ingredients
Apples – You can pick the flavor you like best. We made ours with Macintosh. I would avoid granny smith as they are a bit more tart.
Raw Honey – Places such as Aldi, Wal Mart, the flea market, or a local apiary can sell you raw honey.
Cinnamon – 2 tablespoons
Gluten-Free Cranberry Cashew Honey Granola – We found this at Aldis. I recommend finding a safe granola that is guaranteed to be gluten-free.
Making your Allergy-Friendly Baked Apples
Start by slicing your apples in half. I made 3 apples with this recipe.
Use an ice cream scoop or spoon to remove the middle of your apple.
Mix together cinnamon and 2 cups of granola.
Add 1/4 cup raw honey and stir well to coat your granola.
Add a heaping spoonful of your granola mixture to your apples and put them in a baking dish.
Drizzle the tops with cinnamon and honey.
Bake at 350° for 40 minutes topped with foil. Remove foil and cook for another 20 minutes.
Serve as is and enjoy or top with a vegan or plant-based ice cream for an extra bit of deliciousness.
Diced Baked Apple Recipe
Are you looking to change it up a bit? I know not everyone loves a whole apple but still wants a delicious treat! I used the above recipe and modified it some for this diced baked apple recipe for those who want to scoop a bit out on their plate without eating an entire apple.
